 Who we are

EcoBrasil - Brazilian Ecotourism Association, a not-for-profit non-governmental organisation, was founded in 1993 by ecotourism professionals and was the first national NGO to focus on ecotourism.

Our vision is to forward ecotourism and sustainable tourism through building knowledge networks and participate in and/or develop projects that helped advance the knowledge about good ecotourism practices and planning in Brazil.

We are small dedicated organization with a large network of contacts in Brazil and internationally, a very good knowledge base and, of course, more than 15 years of practical experience with ecotourism and sustainable tourism projects and initiatives all over Brazil.

EcoBrasil depends on the volunteer time of its directors and technical corps and small donations from partners and affiliates for the maintenance of this website and to participate in conferences, seminars and workshops.

In order to gain access to part of our knowledge-base, affiliation is necessary (this is free, but we like to know who is using our information). We try to answer most serious enquiries, but reserve the right not to respond to vague or impossible requests.
